I opened my mouth, almost said something. Almost. The rest of my life might have turned out differently if I had. But I didn’t.

Learning how to live with depression has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with. I think that one of the most difficult things about depression is trying to explain it to someone who has never experienced it. After 7 years of suffering from depression, I feel as though I’m fairly well versed in it now, yet I’m still so afraid to tell people about it. I want to be a role model for people. I want to show people that yes, you can have depression and still achieve your goals. But there’s still something so difficult about admitting you have depression and knowing that people will always think of you differently, no matter how hard they try not to.
